Shrink Films

shrink FilmsThere are three well-known types of shrink films: PVC (polyvinyl chloride), PET-G (polypropylene terephthalate glycol) and BOPP (oriented polypropylene) film. PVC films offer extremely high shrink characteristics, making it ideal for contoured containers. PVC films provides excellent clarity and offers grease and solvent resistance, gas permeability and wide heat seal temperature range. PET-G is a high strength film with excellent clarity, good abrasion resistance, moderate permeability, high stability and a wide temperature range. OPP is the least expensive alternative in the shrink film market and the most environmentally friendly. Its shrink capabilities are lower compared with the other two films. PVC has an approximate 60% shrink capability, whereas OPP has upwards of 25%.

Shrink films are used in a number of applications, including household supplies, cosmetics, and the food and beverage markets. Providing bright and colorful graphics for unlimited design possibilities at maximum print areas, heat-shrinkable films offers a number of advantages over their counterparts.
