Renewable Packaging

Current rigid trays are made from petrochemical resins such PP, PE, PET, PVC, etc. These products are derivatives of petroleum. As such, they are neither renewable nor sustainable.

Moreover, petrochemical resins are not compostable and they take a very long time to decompose in landfills.

It is important for the environment and our future to develop renewable and sustainable solution alternatives to petrochemical resins.

We have the following renewable options for rigid trays:

PLA (Polylactic Acid) Films and Trays:

PLA resins are made from corn or rice starch. These are renewable sustainable sources as we can easily grow more. There are some limits to what they can be used to package. These films and trays are compostable.

Other alternative sources:

We are currently working on other options of renewable sources. As these products become commercialized, we will inform our customers.
