Slitter Operators and Assistants

Summary

Triton’s current portfolio includes but not limited to PET, BOPP, BOPA, CPP, coated films and lidding films. Triton has state of the art slitting machines in its Springfield, Virginia facility. Due to growth, Triton International is seeking 9 slitter operators and assistant to join its team now. For slitter operator roles, the plastic film slitting experience is a must. For slitter operator assistant roles, slitting experience or exposure is preferred, manufacturing/heavy machinery operation experience is required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate the slitter machine (Slitter Operator)

    • Set up the computerized system for the upcoming job

    • Set up the machine, the blades etc

    • Ensure all of the material usage is recorded (master, finished rolls, trim, loss) on the system

  • Assist in shipping and receiving material (Slitter Operator Assistant)

    • Pull material from the inventory and prepare for slitting

    • Pack and label ready to ship material

    • Load and unload the truck by operating a forklift

  • Maintain warehouse safety and cleanliness  (Both)

    • Ensure warehouse safety and cleanliness by operating machinery safely, and performing any necessary cleaning tasks

  • Other warehouse related tasks as assigned (Both)

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Min 5 years plastic film slitting experience for the Slitter Operator Role

  • Min 2 years manufacturing/heavy machinery operation experience for the Slitter Operator Assistant Role

For both roles:

  • Ability to work safely

  • Ability to learn the layout of the warehouse

  • Ability to operate the forklifts and other warehouse equipment (on-site training and certification available)

Physical Demands:

  • Heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.) is required at times

  • Sitting for short periods

  • Standing for long periods

  • Crouching or stooping for some periods

  • Reaching with hands and arms

  • Pushing and/or pulling heavy material and equipment

  • Exposure to cold and heat in winter and summer months

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or educational equivalent

  • On-the-job training after hire

Other:

  • Must be available to work varying hours and shifts when needed

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test

  • May be subject to random drug testing

  • Must pass a pre-employment background check

Logistics Agent (B2B)

Summary:

The primary purpose of this job is to provide service directly to assigned customers and sales representatives for long life-cycle sales orders (2-5 month cycle).  Responsibilities include taking orders, tracking orders, communicating status of orders, coordinating the ocean and land shipments and maintaining database with accurate and up-to-date information on the status of all orders.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for opening customer sales orders in an accurate and timely manner

  • Follow up on customer orders from receipt of order until order delivery

  • Manage inventory levels

  • Provide updates and communicate with customers/sales reps regarding shipments

  • Tracking orders and shipments

  • Coordinate outgoing shipments and process all related documents

  • Maintain database and hard copy records

  • Manage consignment report and prepare appropriate invoices

  • Send invoices and packing lists to customers

  • Researching freight transportation options (i.e., requesting rates from trucking and

  shipping companies for different methods to find most cost effective)

Position Requirements:

  • Associates degree in business management or relevant discipline is desired at a minimum

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to think quickly and take initiative

  • Solid knowledge and experience with current office technologies, including personal

computers, office software, Mac and Windows environments

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member
